My friend keeps calling the 'Attack on Titan' ending a 'plot hole' and it's driving me nuts
He said the final battle's logic made no sense because 'Eren could have just talked to them,' completely missing the whole tragic point about predetermined paths and the Founder's power. I had to pull up the manga chapter 139 and walk him through Ymir's influence panel by panel. Does anyone else have a friend who argues about anime details without actually paying attention?

Walking someone through chapter 139 panel by panel sounds painful. I had a buddy who swore up and down that the Rumbling was a metaphor for climate change. He wouldn't let it go, even after I pointed out the author's interviews about the cycle of war. Some people just latch onto a surface take and refuse to dig deeper.

Had a cousin who kept saying the whole show was about veganism. Eventually just asked him if the characters ever ate a salad. Sometimes you gotta let people sit with their own bad take until it gets awkward. They usually change the subject on their own.
