Changed my mind about slice-of-life anime after watching Super Cub

I used to think slice-of-life anime was boring. No action, no big stakes, just kids doing everyday things. I avoided the whole genre for years. But last month I gave Super Cub a shot after a buddy kept pushing me. It follows a lonely girl who buys a used Honda Super Cub motorcycle and slowly starts building a life around it. Over 12 episodes, I watched her go from having almost nothing to making friends and finding purpose. The quiet moments like her first ride to the lake or learning to fix the bike just clicked for me. What changed my mind was seeing how the small details actually mattered a lot. Has anyone else had a genre they hated but then one show flipped your opinion?

Yeah man Super Cub was the exact same thing for me. I went in thinking it would be boring but something about watching her slowly build confidence with that little bike just hooked me. There's a scene where she's sitting by the lake and it's just quiet for a solid minute and I realized I was more invested in that moment than most action scenes I've seen. The show made me stop and appreciate small stuff I usually ignore.

@seanh91 I get that but honestly those quiet scenes just felt empty to me lol.
