Question about loading film in bright sunlight

I kept wasting the first 2 frames of every roll because I was too impatient to find shade, then I tried just using my own body to block the sun and threading the leader before I even opened the canister. Anyone else got a weird hack for loading without a changing bag at a park or beach?

My own hack is to keep a black t-shirt in my camera bag and just drape it over my shoulders like a cape while I wrestle the film in. It looks ridiculous, but it works, and Ive gotten some very confused looks from people walking their dogs. The real problem is that I get so proud of myself for loading without a single wasted frame that I forget to take the shirt off and end up shooting half a roll through the fabric. Then I get home and find twelve beautiful shots of blurry cotton. At this point Ive decided the universe wants me to waste at least one frame per roll just to keep me humble.

Isn't it funny how the universe always finds a way to humble us, @the_claire, or in my case, make me look like a confused bat?
