A homeowner in Phoenix roasted my wire runs, now I route everything different

Last month I finished a retrofit in a 3,200 sq ft house and the owner walked the job with me. He pointed at my bundle of wires going up the wall and said "that looks like spaghetti, my kid could do better." I laughed it off at first but honestly he was right, I was lazy with the zip ties and didn't plan the path before drilling. Since then I sketch the route on my phone before I start, even for small jobs, and I leave about 6 inches of service loop at every sensor. It takes me maybe 15 extra minutes per panel but the finish looks clean and customers actually notice. Has anyone else had a client give them a hard time that ended up improving their work?
