Showerthought: my boss said skip email and just text customers, and he was dead right
Two years ago our store manager told me to stop sending promo emails for service reminders and just text people directly. I thought he was nuts since we had 4,000 email addresses and only about 600 phone numbers. But he said nobody reads those emails and texts get opened in minutes. Our oil change reminder texts get about 40 percent booked, the emails got maybe 3 percent. Anyone else find plain texts beat fancy email funnels for repeat customers?
And the wild part is you can copy that same trick to other stuff, like telling people their tires are due or their appointment is coming up. Emails just sit there in a pile with 50 other promos, but a text hits their phone like a friend checking in.
