My AI content calendar went completely off the rails last Tuesday
I set up an automated system to schedule posts for a client's new product launch. It was supposed to push three posts a day for a week. Instead, it posted the same announcement about a 'limited time offer' 47 times in a single hour. I got a frantic call from the client while I was at the station, and I had to log in from my phone to delete everything. The AI just kept looping because I forgot to set a hard stop on the campaign. Has anyone else had an automation script go totally wild like that?

Oh man, that's the worst feeling. It's like when you set a smart thermostat and it decides to just blast heat at 3am because it learned some weird pattern. These systems are so brittle, they do exactly what you tell them, even if what you told them is to post the same thing 47 times. We keep adding more automation everywhere, but the failsafes never seem to get the same attention. Makes you wonder how many other little time bombs are just ticking away out there.

Yikes, that's a rough one... but honestly, I have to disagree with @thompson.abby a bit here. Calling the systems brittle feels like passing the blame. It's not the AI's fault it followed a bad loop, it's on us for not testing the rules we set up. We get lazy with the setup because the tech seems smart, but it's still just a tool. The real time bomb is always the human who didn't double-check their own work.
