My remote team's wine notes got oddly specific this quarter

Since we started working from home, everyone shares their wine notes with way more detail. It's like we're trying to connect over something simple. Last week, my manager described a pinot noir with notes of cherry and office nostalgia.

It makes sense that wine notes turned into a way to share more than just taste. When you're not in the same room, small details become a way to feel closer. Talking about office memories in a pinot noir is like trying to catch the feeling of casual chats. We're all missing those unplanned times, so we put that gap into our reviews. Maybe the extra detail isn't about the wine at all, but about saying 'I remember how things were' without making it too serious. It's a safe topic that lets us touch on what we've lost.

Had a Cabernet last week that just tasted like blackberries and oak. Not sure we need to read that much into it.

Honestly, I used to think all those extra details were just showing off. But @tara_flores92 made me see it's really about missing the office and wanting to connect. Now I get why my team puts so much into those descriptions.
