PSA: My favorite thrift spot cleared out all the winter coats way too early this year.

I went in last week hoping to find a good jacket, and the whole coat section was just gone. The staff said they rotate stock based on retail seasons, but it's only September and already feels rushed. Do you think thrift stores should hold onto out-of-season items longer for budget shoppers?

My friend Lisa went to Value Thrift in early October looking for a winter coat. The entire rack was just swimsuits and shorts, which felt really rushed for the season. Thrift stores should remember that their customers often shop out of necessity, not just for trends.

Why do thrift stores rush seasons like they're trying to beat the weather? It's hard when you need a coat and only find summer clothes. Maybe they think we're all going to the beach in fall. But it just shows they don't understand what people need. I hope Lisa found a coat somewhere else, because that store messed up.

But that retail season excuse falls apart when you look at the weather. Most people still need a coat in October, so who exactly is this rotation for? Seems like they're just copying big box stores without remembering their own customers might not have the cash to follow fashion timelines. Is the goal to move inventory or to actually help people?
