Picked a cheap metal carport over a wood shed, dealing with hail noise now
I built a 12x20 carport kit last spring in Fort Worth instead of a proper shed because it was $2,100 vs $5,400 for wood. Took a weekend to put up with two buddies, no complaints about that part. But every time it hails, which is like 4 times a year here, the noise inside is insane and I can hear it from my bedroom 30 feet away. I'm storing lawn equipment and a kayak under it, so water runs off fine but the sheet metal drums like a drum. Has anyone else gone the carport route and regretted it, or added insulation or rubber mats to kill the racket? Trying to figure out if I sell it or just live with the clatter.
