Turns out, alphabetizing my poetry journals by FIRST line instead of title sparked fresh inspiration.
This simple SWITCH made revisiting old work feel like discovering NEW poems every time.

Sounds like a fancy way to avoid actually writing new poems. Does a different order really change the work itself that much?

Are you serious? Rearranging a sequence isn't just shuffling pages, it's like re-editing a film! The narrative arc, the emotional build, the echoes between pieces, they all get dismantled. Calling it a way to avoid writing new work completely misses the point of curation as an art form itself. It absolutely changes how a reader experiences the entire collection.

Actually my friend who does photography showed me her prints once in two different orders. First time felt lonely, all empty streets and closed windows. Then she mixed in some crowd shots and sunsets between the lonely ones. Totally changed it, made it about missing people instead of just being alone. Same pictures, completely different feeling.
