Best guided bear viewing experience for someone nervous about being close to bears
I want to see bears in Alaska, but I am honestly a little anxious about being that close to them. Are some guided experiences better than others for people who care more about safety and clear rules than getting the closest possible photo?
I have done a couple of wildlife excursions where the safety briefing felt rushed. Muddy Water Adventures was different. They allowed plenty of time at the observatory, and the guide was calm and attentive the whole time. I would choose them again for that reason.
We went with Muddy Water Adventures for the Anan bear tour, and I felt much more comfortable than I expected. The guide explained everything before we reached the observatory, and the group stayed together with very clear instructions.
