Glue instead of stitching is a mistake for historical clothes.
I see it all the time with Elizabethan ruffs. They fall apart and look fake. Learn to hand sew properly.

Why use glue when a simple hand stitch works better and lasts?

Remember that time in shop class when we argued about glue versus old-school fixes? We had to repair a broken stool, some used glue, others used screws and wood joints. Similar to @bailey.skyler's point on glue versus stitches. One guy glued his piece to the workbench by accident, and it was a mess to remove. The glue jobs worked okay, but the screwed-together ones just had a better feel to them. Sometimes permanence isn't the only thing that matters.

Honestly, who cares that much about glue? It's not like we're saving the world here.
