Managed to trim the fuel log hassle down to something tolerable

Our company's fuel tracking system had me filling out the same details three times on different sheets every refuel. It was such a time sink, especially when you're trying to keep a site moving. I finally started keeping a small notebook in the cab and jotting everything down in one go, then transferring it all at once at the end of the day. Took a bit to get the routine right, but now I'm not standing there at the pump fumbling with papers. The yard manager actually nodded approval when he saw my logs were neater and complete. It's a tiny thing, but not dreading fuel stops anymore feels like a real win. Probably saved myself a headache or two.

Oh man, that triple-entry nonsense sounds like a total nightmare. I've been there with paperwork that just makes you want to scream at a clipboard, lol. Finding that one little trick to cut the hassle in half is the best feeling ever.

How did you set up your notebook to make it quick in the cab? I used a tiny pocket notepad with columns for date, miles, and gallons, so I just had to plug in the numbers. Made a huge difference not trying to remember everything later. Felt so good to hand in a full stack of logs at once, lol. Those little fixes are the best.

Yeah, @kai_west, that's the perfect kind of fix. It's wild how much smoother life gets when you build a tiny system for the annoying stuff, like your notepad columns. I do the same thing with a binder clip on my visor for receipts (sounds dumb, but it works). Those little wins add up and just quietly remove so much daily friction.
