Getting really into doing detailed hair taping on models for my portfolio

Honestly, I love how hair taping lets me add texture and detail without heat or product. But some stylists think it's too slow for a busy salon and clients might not go for it. Ngl, I've spent hours perfecting the weave patterns on practice heads. So, is it worth mastering as a special service or just a cool hobby thing?

Wow, I used to think it was just for editorials too, but the right clients will absolutely pay for that kind of artisanal detail.

I used to think fancy details were just for show. Then I tried to make something myself and it looked terrible. Now I see why experts charge what they do. That kind of detail takes time and real talent. People who care about quality will always pay for it. It's a smart investment in something that lasts.

Yeah, it's like that moment you try to do a simple hand-stitched detail yourself and it looks like a toddler did it. I messed up a basic hem last week and wanted to throw the whole project out the window. That's when you really get what @the_amy means. You see a perfect rolled edge on a jacket or those tiny, even stitches on a leather bag and it just clicks. That's not just time, it's years of practice most of us don't have.
