Saw a funny glass mix-up at the town hall renovation
I drove by the town hall yesterday and they put in sliding glass doors where the specs clearly called for fixed panels. The crew was already gone, so it's just sitting there wrong. Made me wonder how often mix-ups like this happen on big jobs. Do you guys double-check plans on site before installing? Would love to hear if you've caught similar mistakes.

Did the project manager even look at the doors before the crew left? On big jobs, you have to compare the actual materials to the plans right before installation. I've seen this happen when crews are in a hurry or assume someone else checked. A quick site review can save a lot of time and money fixing mistakes later. It's worth the extra few minutes to avoid that kind of mix-up.

Oh man, that's a classic! Tyler's right about checking plans on site, but honestly, the real fix is making sure the plans themselves are super clear. I've seen specs where "fixed glass" and "sliding door" looked almost the same on the drawing if you were rushing. A good foreman will circle that kind of critical detail in red right on the plan copy for the crew. Poor @nathan851 knows that pain, measuring three times but a vague plan can still trip you up. It's all about those clear marks to stop the mix-up before it gets to the site.
