My shop just hit 500 custom shower doors installed this year

I was doing the books last night and the number really jumped out at me. We're a small crew of four in Cincinnati, and that's more than double what we did in 2022. It's all those frameless units with the 3/8" thick glass we started pushing. Has anyone else seen a big jump in demand for that specific style lately?

Our remodeler in Columbus can't keep those frameless units in stock either. We quoted out a dozen just last week for a new condo project. Seems like everyone wants that clean look now.

Notice how Keithwalker mentioned people tapping the glass. That's the real trick. It's not just a clean look, it's a quiet one. You don't have those metal frames rattling or those plastic seals creaking. In a condo building, that solid, silent feel is a huge sell for people tired of cheap builder-grade noise.

Honestly, we saw the same thing last fall. We started putting a sample of that 3/8" glass right in our showroom display, and it changed everything. People would walk in, see it, and just tap on it. That solid feel sold it way better than any brochure. Our installs for that style probably tripled after that.
