Why does nobody talk about how long it takes to set up a smart home hub from scratch?
I finally decided to connect all my smart lights and plugs to a central hub last weekend. I figured it would be an hour, maybe two tops. It took me almost six hours of resetting devices, checking firmware, and reading old forum posts. The worst part was a single light bulb that refused to pair until I moved it three feet closer to the hub. Has anyone else had a simple tech job blow up into a whole day project?

My buddy tried to set up his new smart thermostat last month... it was a whole thing. He had to turn his home's power off three times, and the app kept saying his wifi password was wrong when it wasn't. He was about to give up. Honestly, @sagea88, I don't think he found the "figuring out" part fun at all. He just wanted his heat to turn on.
