My phone's battery life tanked after a recent update, but a weird fix worked
Last Tuesday, my phone started dying by 2 PM after a routine software patch, which was a huge problem on a long drive. I tried a factory reset, which is a pain, but what actually helped was turning off the 'adaptive brightness' feature I'd never messed with before. Has anyone else had a specific setting drain their battery after an update?

Tell me about it, my phone did the same thing last month. I mean, the update was supposed to help battery life, but mine was just getting warm and dying super fast. I spent forever closing apps and checking for weird ones running. Maybe it's just me, but those automatic settings can really mess things up after an update. I'm glad you found a fix, I'll have to check my own brightness setting now.

Ugh YES the warmth thing is the worst! Mine felt like a tiny heater in my pocket, it was so weird. I had to do a full restart like three times before it finally calmed down. Those auto-brightness settings are sneaky like that after an update.
