My brother told me to ignore the battery life specs on that new fitness tracker

He said the company's claim of 10 days was based on minimal use, and real tracking would cut it in half. I bought the Garmin Venu 3 anyway last month, and sure enough, with daily GPS workouts, I'm charging it every 4 days. It's a great device, but he was right about the marketing hype. Anyone else find fitness gadget battery claims are way off?

That's interesting about the Garmin. Do you find the battery drains faster with certain GPS settings, like using all satellites instead of just one system? I've heard that can make a big difference.

Honestly, did you just start testing this too? I used to keep mine on the all-systems setting because I figured more satellites meant better accuracy, no question. But after tracking my battery life for a few months, I had to change my mind. The drain is way faster, and for most of my runs, just using GPS alone is totally fine. It's one of those things you don't notice until you really compare the numbers.
