Shoutout to my uncle for telling me to always seal the bottom of a table

Honestly, I thought he was just being extra careful. He said, 'If you don't seal the underside, the wood will pull moisture differently and warp the top.' I refinished a solid oak dining table for a client last month and skipped that step to save a little time. Ngl, two weeks later they called me back because the tabletop had a noticeable cup in it. I had to redo the whole thing, which cost me a full day of work and ate into my profit. Has anyone else had a piece warp on them from skipping the underside?

Feel your pain, that exact thing happened to me last year.

But is it worth getting that upset over? In my experience, stuff like that usually works itself out in a few weeks. Maybe it just feels bigger right now.
