Update: My ink experiment turned into a purple disaster on my desk
I was mixing a new batch in my kitchen last night, trying to get a deep plum color with a 3:1 ratio of a blue-black to a burgundy. The bottle slipped from my wet hands and shattered on the tile floor... sending about 30ml of concentrated dye everywhere. It looked like a crime scene. I spent the next hour on my knees with paper towels and rubbing alcohol, but the grout is still stained. Has anyone found a better cleaner for this kind of mess that won't ruin the floor?

My old tile floor in the apartment had a similar purple stain for years. I finally tried a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, left it overnight, and it actually faded a lot.

That's the thing with old stains, right? They become part of the place and you stop seeing them. Then one day you try some simple home fix and it actually works. It's like that crusty mark on my stovetop that vanished with vinegar. Makes you wonder what other small problems we've just learned to live with.
