Found a VHS labeled 'Vacation 1993' that's just 45 minutes of a motel parking lot

I used to get excited for any tape with a date, now I just assume it's someone's boring home movie. Anyone else get burned by a misleading label?

Classic. At least a parking lot is honest. I opened one last week that just said "Grandma" and it was two hours of a soap opera she taped over a wedding.

See, that "honest" parking lot is the real fake out to me. It feels like a promise of nothing, but there's always some weird little story baked into the concrete. A faded hopscotch grid, a single weird stain, the ghost of an old store sign. That grandma tape though, the soap over the wedding, that's a whole other level of truth. It's a double layer of someone's real life, the thing they meant to keep and the thing they actually watched.
