Why does nobody talk about that weird PS2 game, 'Mister Mosquito'?
I realized I've owned my copy for over 20 years now, and that number hit me because it's a perfect example of a game that was so bizarre and specific it just vanished from the conversation.

Because the entire premise was so deeply strange it broke people's brains. You're a mosquito trying to get blood from a stressed-out Japanese family without getting swatted. It wasn't just a weird game, it was a weird idea that felt like a joke. Games that odd don't get sequels or remakes, they just become a story you tell to prove you didn't dream it. The fact we're talking about it now proves it worked, in its own messed-up way.

Used to believe weird games like that were just jokes that didn't land. Your point about it being a story you tell to prove it was real actually makes a lot of sense. It wasn't trying to be a blockbuster, it was just this pure, strange idea that sticks in your head forever. Maybe that's a better kind of success than getting a sequel.

Man, that game was a total trip. What stuck with me was how they made something so simple feel so tense. Just trying to land on a guy's arm while he watched TV was a whole mission. It's the kind of weird, specific idea that could only come from that era, and I'm kinda sad we don't get stuff that brave anymore.
