A customer at my taco pop-up in Echo Park said the salsa verde was 'like a green hug for my tongue' and I haven't stopped smiling about it.

That one comment from a total stranger last Friday made me realize the real product isn't the food itself, but the specific feeling people get when they eat it.

Honestly, that "green hug" feeling is the whole reason I keep cooking for people.

Turning a meal into a memory" is a bit much, isn't it? It's just food.

Man, that is so cool. I read this interview once with a baker who said the same thing, that her real job was selling the feeling of a warm kitchen on a rainy day, not just bread. @the_obert is totally right to chase that feeling. It's what turns a meal into a memory, you know? That customer gave you the best kind of feedback, it's pure gold.
