Update: Bought a $35 'universal' power supply brick for my old Dreamcast
It fried the console's power board within an hour. Anyone know a reliable source for original PSUs that won't torch my stuff?

Disagree hard on this one. That universal brick sent the wrong voltage straight into the console's heart. Seen this exact thing happen before, and it rarely stops at just a fuse. The damage usually runs deeper, frying traces on the board itself. It's a total gamble to assume it's a simple fix. Finding a proper original PSU is the only safe move now.

Ugh that's rough... but honestly how bad is it really fried? I've seen those old power boards take a hit and just need a fuse swapped out. Those universal bricks are junk but the Dreamcast is pretty tough. Might just be a cheap capacitor that blew, not the whole board.

Ever check the voltage that brick actually put out? I've opened up a few after they failed and found burnt spots on the main board near the power connector, not just the PSU area. That's a way harder fix than a fuse.
