Shoutout to the guy at the Memphis flea market who told me to check the fuses first

I was about to junk a 1980s stereo receiver, but he showed me a blown 2A fuse in the back panel. Saved me hours of pointless troubleshooting. Anyone know a good source for those old glass tube fuses?

My 1978 Marantz had the exact same issue last year. Found a pack of five at Ace Hardware for less than three bucks. That old gear is surprisingly resilient once you get past the fuse.

Had the same thing happen with an old tube radio. My local hardware store had a drawer full of those glass fuses for cheap. Might be worth checking there before ordering online.

Man, those old hardware stores are lifesavers for this stuff. I grabbed a whole box of fuses for my dad's old receiver at a place like that, dirt cheap. It's crazy how such a tiny part can bring a whole unit back to life. Always makes my day when the old tech just needs a simple fix.
