Question about those cheap capacitor kits on eBay for old CRT TVs

I was fixing a Sony Trinitron from 1998 and thought the $12 full cap kit from a seller in Hong Kong was a total scam. Replaced the main filter cap anyway and the screen flicker was gone in ten minutes. Has anyone else had a good run with those generic kits, or did I just get lucky?

How many caps did you end up replacing? I've had mixed luck with those kits too.

Wow, that's a solid win for a cheap kit. Which main filter cap did you swap, the big one on the power board? I've seen those fail and cause flicker a lot. Did you check the brand on the new cap they sent, or was it just a no-name part? Always wonder about the quality inside those things.
