Picked up a working film camera from a garage sale for five bucks.
Old gear just keeps going, which is pretty neat if you ask me.

Honestly, a quick clean with lighter fluid fixed my sticky shutter for good.

It's neat when old stuff works, but they often don't last forever. Light seals decay, shutters get sticky, and film is getting harder to find. I've had a few from garage sales die on me after a roll or two. Five bucks is a steal if it works, though. Just don't count on it being reliable for long. Lol, maybe I've just had bad luck.

The real gamble is whether the previous owner stored it right, like not in a damp basement. That's what kills them more than age.
