Overheard a homeowner say 'anyone can dig a post hole' after I spent 3 hours hitting bedrock on their property
Made me realize some people just dont get what goes into a proper fence job until they try breaking through shale with a hand digger themselves, has anyone else dealt with clients who think this trade is easy?

You ever try to explain to someone that soil is different everywhere and they just stare at you like you're making it up? Next time, hand them your digger after you hit rock and say "go for it." That usually shuts it down quick.

40% of the country is clay at 6 inches, @sagesingh. Hand someone a shovel in Georgia red clay or Texas black gumbo and they'll shut up quick about "just digging a hole." Try digging a post hole in that stuff with a hand digger and see how long the lecture lasts.
