Shoutout to folks who've handled jersey knit without puckering

I'm making a stretch top with jersey knit fabric. The seams always pucker when I sew them. I used a ballpoint needle and a zigzag stitch. It still turns out messy. What else can I try to stop this?

Try using a walking foot if you have one, it helps feed the layers evenly. A little spray starch on the seam allowance before sewing can also stabilize it.

A glue stick on the seam allowance works like starch in a pinch.

My sewing machine just ate another quilt sandwich, so I'm taking all the advice I can get.
