My lightbulb moment with stubborn jersey knit
Jersey knit gave me headaches. The curling edges ruined my seams. Tried steam and needles with no luck. Then I remembered a video about walking feet. Dug out the attachment for my machine. Tested it on scrap fabric. It worked perfectly. Applied it to my project and finished strong. Really proud of this fix.

Glad the walking foot helped you manage the fabric, but it doesn't actually stop the curling. That foot just helps feed the layers evenly so the curl doesn't ruin your seam while you sew. The material will still curl up the second you cut it. For that, you still need to fight it with starch or pattern weights. The walking foot is a win for sewing knits, but it's a separate battle from the edge curl itself.

Last time I cut knit fabric, it curled up so much I almost lost a pattern piece under the couch. The walking foot is great for sewing, but it's totally useless against the instant curl rebellion. So I'm over here with my spray starch and weights, feeling like I'm dealing with a rebellious noodle. What's your secret weapon for keeping knits flat, or do you just embrace the curl?

Honestly, a walking foot does help with the curl a bit while you sew. It keeps the fabric layers from shifting, which stops the curl from getting worse under the needle. It's not a total fix, but it makes sewing way easier.
