I used to think those weird asymmetrical sleeves were just for runway shows
Then I saw a girl at the Portland farmers market last week wearing a jacket with one sleeve that was a completely different fabric and color. It looked amazing, not weird at all. She said she got it from a local designer who does all her pieces like that. Has anyone actually tried to make something with mismatched sleeves that worked?

Honestly I tried it once and it looked like I got dressed in the dark. My sewing skills are not up to that level of cool. It really takes a good eye to pull it off like that.

My friend tried that last year and it was a total mess, like @stone.thomas said. She ended up with one sleeve way longer than the other. It really does take a special kind of skill to make it look good.
