Pretreating doesn't solve the core problem. Linen is a fussy fabric that shrinks and wrinkles no matter what you do. I just stopped buying 100% linen stuff altogether. Blends work way better and don't need special treatment. Tags are meaningless when half the brands put wrong care instructions anyway. Learned that after ruining a nice shirt that said "machine wash cold" and came out two sizes smaller.

Was a total skeptic about switching up my laundry routine for years, but after three ruined linen shirts in one week I had to admit I was wrong. Now I pre-treat everything and check the tags twice before tossing things in.
