Seeing execs mistake activity for progress in quarterly reviews

Tbh I keep noticing leaders pack their board slides with busy work like 'held 15 stakeholder calls' but skip the actual outcomes. Last quarter a VP bragged about '100% meeting attendance' while their project missed every deadline. Has anyone else found a way to get your team to focus on results instead of just looking busy?

Oh MAN this drives me UP the wall. I literally watched a guy list "sent 500 emails" as a key result last quarter. Like cool but your actual project is three months behind. Try asking your team what they actually ACHIEVED versus what they just showed up for.

People get too worked up about this stuff honestly. A lot of these metrics are just for show to make managers feel like they measured something. As long as the work actually gets done in the end, I don't see the harm in padding out a quarterly report a little.
