Showerthought: My built-in shelf project made me question the whole cold storage trend
Everyone says you have to keep certain products chilled to keep them good. I made some basic shelves in a corner of my room with good air flow instead. My stuff stays fine, and I can grab what I need fast. I think the cold thing is mostly for looks, not actual need. Doing this saved me money and space for other things.

Consider how marketing creates needs where few exist. They sell us cold storage by making room temp feel risky, even for stable goods. You just found the old way often works fine.
