My mentor told me to stop using physical exfoliants on rosacea clients, and she was spot on

I had a client with mild rosacea about 3 months ago, and I was still using a gentle scrub in my routine. My old boss from my first spa job in Tampa always said, 'The grit is what gets it clean.' But my current mentor, Sarah, pulled me aside and said, 'You're going to make their skin barrier scream.' I switched to a chemical exfoliant for that client type, and the difference in redness after just two sessions was huge. Anyone else have a mentor moment that completely flipped your technique?

Honestly though, I still use a super fine physical scrub on my rosacea clients sometimes. If it's gentle enough and you're not scrubbing hard, it can work better for some people than acids that just sit on the skin.

My Tampa boss was right about grit for sensitive skin.
