Vent: I keep seeing people use way too much flux on laptop motherboard repairs.

I watched a repair video from a channel in Chicago last week where they used a whole syringe of flux on a single GPU reball, which is overkill and can cause bridging issues if you don't clean it all off properly.

It's like that with everything now... people just use way more than they need. Saw someone pour half a bottle of detergent into a washing machine once. More isn't always better, it just makes a mess you have to clean up later.

A whole syringe on one chip? That's just making a huge mess on purpose. It's like they're trying to glue the board down instead of solder it. All that extra flux just bubbles up and spreads everywhere under the heat. You'd spend more time cleaning the sticky gunk off than you did on the actual repair.
