Tbh I fixed a flickering monitor by swapping the power board caps with ones from a dead TV

Some guys online say it's a bad practice, but it got the client's display working for 6 months now. Anyone else used donor boards from different brands as a last resort?

Honestly reminds me of the time I got my old car stereo working with a power supply from a broken DVD player. It sounded terrible but it blasted tunes for a whole summer. Sometimes you just have to use what's in the junk drawer. The purists can clutch their pearls all they want.

Six months is a solid run for a last-ditch fix lol. People act like it's a cardinal sin, but if it works it works.

That old TV board probably had better caps anyway.
