Got zapped by a ghost switch at a church job last Saturday
I was swapping out old receptacles at a church downtown, nothing wild. One box had a switch that I figured was for the overhead lights, so I turned it off and tagged it. Got halfway through pulling the old outlet and got a jolt that made me drop my lineman's. Turns out some pastor's son had wired a hidden bypass switch in the back room 15 years ago for 'convenience' and nobody knew. The thing was buried behind a shelf of hymn books and didn't even look like a switch. Anyone else run into secret wiring from like 2008 that just makes you question everything?

Wait until you find out the original wiring wasn't even to code and the whole thing was a fire hazard from day one.

Man, hold up though. That hidden switch sounds kind of genius to me. Maybe the pastor's son was just thinking ahead and didn't want to mess up the old lady's hymnal shelf.
