Am I the only one who thinks cranked-down terminals are asking for trouble?
Over-snugging lugs can stress wires and lead to hidden faults...

Most people don't realize there's a spec for a reason. The right torque on a lug is just as important as not cranking it down.

Cranking it down" is my neighbor's answer for every bolt on his truck. He puts his whole weight on a breaker bar and calls it good. @robert_bennett, the spec sheet might as well be in another language to him. I watched him twist a lug clean off once because he thought tight meant right. Now his idea of safe is a wheel that groans when you look at it... classic.
