Watched a guy try to mud inside corners with a 6 inch knife last week

I was on a job over in Maplewood and this new guy kept getting these huge ridges in his inside corners. He was using a 6 inch knife and just jamming it in there. I showed him my 3 inch knife and how to work it in two passes, first the bottom then the top. He flattened right out after that. Has anyone else seen people make this same mistake with their corner tools?

A 6 inch blade in a corner is just asking for trouble every time

The trick is keeping your body positioned right and using a short, controlled pivot. I've seen guys try to muscle a 6 inch blade into a tight corner and it catches every single time. Better to take two smaller passes than force one big cut and have that thing kick back at you. Always keep that back edge clear too, that's where the trouble starts.
