Walked into a job last week where the old drywall was this nasty 70s texture. Came back Friday after mudding and sanding it smooth. Night and day difference.

Man I heard somewhere that those 70s textured walls were really popular because they hid imperfections like crazy, but man did they look rough. Smoothing that out must make the whole room feel new.

My buddy mark spent a whole summer scraping that stuff off his living room walls in his old house. He said it was like trying to peel off concrete with a butter knife, took him weeks. But once he got it smooth and painted it a light grey the whole place opened up. He kept saying it felt like he moved into a totally different house. @the_hugo you're right, it really does make the room feel new.
