Thought a buddy was full of it on the screw gun trick

He told me to switch to a collated screw gun with a depth adjustment dial for the last house we did together. After 3 rooms I saw how much faster the finish was and yeah... I was wrong. Has anyone else gotten burned by sticking with the old way too long?

Used a hammer drill for years until I tried the collated setup. Game changer.

Yeah but @barnes.brian, I gotta push back a little on that. I tried a collated setup once and went right back to my old hammer drill. The thing with collated is you lose a lot of control on uneven surfaces, like if you're driving screws into old wood with knots or weird grain. I've had the gun skip or strip more heads than I care to count. Plus when you're up on a ladder, having that heavy coil hanging off the side just throws off your balance. Maybe it's just my style, but I like the feel of a regular drill in my hand where I can feel every bite.
