Switching to a longer knife for feathering changed my game
I mean, I used to just use my standard 6-inch knife for everything, but I started using a 12-inch for feathering out the last coat. It makes the blends so much smoother and cuts down on sanding time. Idk, maybe it's obvious, but it was a game changer for me. Do you all have a go-to knife for finishing work?

Read somewhere that the longer blade helps keep the angle consistent across a bigger area. Makes sense why it would smooth things out. Might have to try that myself.

Totally agree, switched to a longer blade last year for finish work (after using shorter ones forever). You really notice the difference on wider sections where the extra length just glides. Made my life way easier on the last few driveways.

Yeah, it's wild how often the right tool just works better. Like using a bigger level for long shelves, same idea of spreading things out.
