Just spent 3 hours unsticking a cutterhead that I could've cleared in 20 minutes

Hit a buried cable on a job near the river mouth Friday and the cutterhead locked up tight. Took me forever to realize the shear pin wasn't broken, just wedged sideways with mud. Has anyone else dealt with a jam that looked way worse than it actually was?

Holding out that long on a shear pin that wasn't even broken... that's rough. I had one where the whole cutter was packed with clay so tight I thought the gearbox was shot, turned out it was just one rock wedged in the wrong spot. Mud can fool you bad, especially when it's hiding the real problem.

Heard a buddy from a job site lost two full days on a skid steer that wouldn't move, turned out the parking brake cable was just pinched under the floor mat and partially engaged. He ripped out the whole driveline before someone else spotted it. Sometimes the dumbest stuff really gets you.
