Appreciation post: I used to think you needed a full crew for a 12-inch cutterhead job.

Ran one solo in Mobile last month with a new remote setup. Anyone else cut their team size after trying new gear?

Yeah, that quiet focus is a total game changer.

Honestly, the quiet focus is the real game changer. I ran a 10-inch job by myself last fall after getting a solid remote control box. The biggest win was dropping the constant back and forth. No more stopping to explain the next cut or waiting on someone else. You just get into a rhythm and keep moving. My speed went up because I was only managing my own pace and decisions. It feels less like a job site and more like just getting into the work.

Ever think about how much time you waste just talking to crew members on site? My biggest gain from going solo wasn't just the labor cost, it was cutting out all the chatter and questions. I get the job planned in my head and just execute without stopping. Did you find you got into a better flow working alone?
