Warning: That master drafter I shadowed last month made me ditch my old layering method

I was working with a guy named Mike at a shop in Portland who has been drafting for 25 years. He said my approach to overlapping layers on architectural plans was wasting time and causing confusion for the builders. He showed me his trick of using a single reference mark and it cut my revision time by half. Has anyone else had a senior drafter totally flip your workflow like that?

That single reference mark trick changed my mind completely.

I hear you on that reference mark technique, but I'm not sure it's the game-changer people are making it out to be. I've tried similar shortcuts and found they only worked in very specific situations, not as a general rule.
