Still mad about that $80 hatch pattern pack I bought last year
Downloaded this big 'pro' hatch pack for AutoCAD and half the patterns are just slightly off, so they look wrong at scale, and the other half I never use. Has anyone else had luck with free pattern libraries instead of paying for these?

Free patterns are a total gamble, and you get what you pay for. That $80 pack probably saved you three days of fixing broken linework or hunting for a hatch that actually tiles right. I tried the free stuff once, grabbed a "brick" pattern that looked fine in preview but turned into a mess at 1/4" scale, gaps everywhere, and the file was a pain to troubleshoot. Honestly, the slightly off patterns you complained about are usually because the base drawing units were set wrong, not the pack itself. Thirty seconds checking your units and that $80 pays for itself. Free libraries are fine for doodling, but for real work, you're gambling your deadline to save a few bucks.
