Old way: drawing everything by hand on vellum. New way: layering everything in AutoCAD. Which one actually saves time when the client changes their mind for the 4th time?
I used to spend 3 hours on a single floor plan with pencils and triangles, but now I can tweak an entire elevation in 10 minutes with layers and blocks, yet my coworker swears hand drafting makes you catch mistakes earlier, so who's got the better approach when deadlines are tight and revisions keep piling up?

Your coworker's not wrong about catching mistakes... I've erased entire sections of vellum and cried over smudged ink. But when the client comes back for the fourth revision and you have to move every door six inches, AutoCAD saves my sanity completely. There's something about seeing the whole building change at once with layers that makes me trust the digital process more, even if it feels disconnected. Deadlines get tight and that's when I lean heavy on the computer because redoing a hand drawing just eats up too many hours. Maybe it's a balance thing, but I'll take the speed over the nostalgia when I'm already behind.
