My old plotter gave up the ghost on a Friday afternoon

It was a 2008 HP Designjet, just started spitting out blank sheets halfway through a big set of shop drawings. I had to run the rest to the print shop and pay $45 for a rush job. Anyone have a good modern plotter they'd recommend that won't break the bank?

Hold up, you said plotter, but that HP was almost definitely a large format printer. Real plotters with pens are museum pieces now. That's probably why you're getting blank pages, those old inkjet heads clog if you look at them wrong. For new stuff, just get a decent Epson or Canon wide format. They're all basically giant printers and way more reliable than that old tank.

Actually, real plotters still work great.

My entire experience with plotters is trying to get a receipt printer to work at a gas station. It felt like a hostage negotiation and I still lost. Blank pages sound like a step up from the paper shredding mine did.
